We are casting for Landscape with Chimneys By Ewan MacColl


As this is a porfit share production we are ideally looking for actors based in Salford and Greater Manchester area

Landscape With Chimneys By Ewan MacColl

Setting: Working-class Salford, late 1940's

Tone: Gritty realism with sharp humor, emotional intimacy, and social tension
 
Hugh - The Hero (Playing age 29 | Male)

Everyone's best friend. Fun and engaging with hidden depths of passion and anger. Timebomb with a slow burning fuse
 
Frank Swindells - The Best Friend ( Playing age early 30's | Male)
Motivated, dynamic
 
Docker Swindells - The Patriarch (Playing age 50's | Male)
Stoic, dependable
 
Mick Shaunnessey - The Protective Father (Playing age 50's | Male)

 Gregarious and charismatic, with a Sailors habit of spinning a yarn and the Celtic gift of the gab
 
Ginger - The Poet (Playing age 15/16 | Male)
Artistic and romantic with serene energy
Ability to sing and play an instrument would be great
 
Gyp - The Survivor (Playing age 19/20 | Male)
Wounded but resolute
A quality of "otherness" would be nice. Something that sets him apart


Casting Notes

Movement and singing ability for all roles desirable however essential for the following roles Ginger and Hugh.
